My Favourite Art Work

I went to the Art Gallery of NSW on October 15. 2015.The subject was about Traditional Aboriginal Art.Three speakers explained about two kinds of Aboriginal Art (Traditional and Contemporary) also they explained about materials, techniques, tools, subject matter and geographical area of Art.In Traditional Art they use ocher, bark and wood and the techniques they use to paint are crass-hatching and weaving (in Arnhem Land). In Contemporary Aboriginal Art the technique to paint is dot point , their material is acrylic and paint on canvas.Aboriginal people believe, they looking from above to every things.Aboriginal Art tells many stories about their culture and I am interested in Aboriginal Art for two reasons first ,it represent their thought and their belief second Aboriginal people kept their culture through simple paint with meaningful massage by natural sources

.

On of  Traditional Aboriginal Art ,that I really liked it was Mortuary rites in 1960 . It painted by
Mathaman Marika(in Arnhem Land). The subject matter of Art  is about death ceremony. When a person died  they put the body under sun and weather and then after while they bring the bone of the dead person to the family and asking all people come to the ceremony. they share food and have dance in their ceremony. That ceremony is depend on how good or bad the dead person was .By the way, Aboriginal people believe that after death they go to dream and they are alive.I like that Art because it is a traditional  paint on bark with natural colours by wonderful techniques. Also the story behind that.
